The Hyatt Centric La Rosière Brings the French Alps Indoors: By Spires Art

A Design-Led Artwork Package Inspired by Location

When working on Hyatt Centric La Rosière, the brief was to create an artwork and mirrors package that felt intrinsically connected to its alpine surroundings, while maintaining the clean and contemporary aesthetic expected from the Hyatt Centric brand.

At Spires, every project begins with a simple question — what story should the walls tell? In this case, the story was shaped by the landscape itself. The design language draws on the forms, tones and textures of the mountains, translated into a modern and refined visual identity that runs throughout the hotel.

A Cohesive Visual Language Across Spaces

Set high in the French Alps at an altitude of 1850 metres, Hyatt Centric La Rosière is defined by its surroundings, and the artwork scheme was developed to reflect this unique setting throughout the hotel.

For this project, we supplied a fully bespoke package including digital wall art, framed prints, canvas artworks and mirrors, each piece carefully selected and tailored to suit the interior concept. Rather than treating each space individually, the scheme was designed to flow seamlessly across the hotel, with a consistent theme and colour palette carried from guest rooms through to communal areas.

The artwork works in harmony with the interiors, reinforcing the overall design intent while adding depth and character to each space. Alongside this, mirrors were considered as an integral part of the package rather than a secondary element. Selected using classic profiles, they were introduced across a variety of settings, from bedrooms to lounges, bars and meeting spaces, ensuring a cohesive and balanced finish throughout.

Enhancing the Guest Experience Through Detail

In the public areas, the approach shifts to focus more on atmosphere and movement through the space. Gallery-style corridors introduce a sense of rhythm and progression, while the use of black and white photography adds contrast to the otherwise warm interior palette.

Mirrors have been integrated to enhance both light and spatial perception, subtly elevating the overall feel of the interiors. Together, these elements create a layered experience for guests, where each space reveals something new without ever feeling overwhelming.

From Concept Through to Completion

A key part of this project was our ability to manage the entire process in-house, from initial concept development through to final manufacture. This allowed for complete consistency across all areas of the hotel, as well as the flexibility to adapt designs to suit each individual space.

By working closely with the design team, we were able to ensure that every element aligned with the overall vision, resulting in a seamless integration of artwork into the wider interior scheme.

The Result

The finished project demonstrates how a considered artwork package can do more than simply fill walls. At Hyatt Centric La Rosière, the artwork plays a central role in shaping the identity of the space, reinforcing the connection to its location while enhancing the guest experience.
